The 17 year old Maitland was last seen at her dishwashing job at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery, Vermont, between 11:20 p.m. and midnight on March 19, 2004...

Brianna Maitland's vehicle a pale green four-door 1985 Oldsmobile sedan was found abandoned on March 20..

Miss Murray 21 years old traveling from Massachusetts ran her car off the road near Woodsville New Hampshire..

When a passerby went to call for help in about 10 minutes time Miss Murray had disappeared..

In Franklin County, Vt., volunteers will be out again Saturday looking for any sign of 17-year-old Maitland...

Miss Maitland disappeared three weeks ago after leaving work at a Montgomery restaurant...

The next morning police found her car backed into an abandoned building a mile away...

Maitland's family met Tuesday with Vermont's chief criminal investigators..

The girl's father, Bruce Maitland, earlier had written a letter to Gov. Jim Douglas complaining that police weren't doing enough to find the 17-year-old who disappeared in mid-March after work..

Missing Girls

http://www.wptz.com/station/3330945/detail.html

Call in the experts. In the past few months, two young women in Vermont and New Hampshire have disappeared under similar circumstances..

Both Brianna Maitland and Maura Murray seem to have had minor car accidents, then simply vanished..

Police insist there is no connection between the disappearances because they can't find a connection between the girls...

Well, what if the connection is a killer?

We say it's past time to call in the feds...This is what the FBI does best..They're trained to make connections.. To find people..

To offer families the assurance that everything that CAN be done IS being done...

But Vermont and New Hampshire police haven't asked the FBI for help..

And the FBI won't come in unless they're asked...

Its' time state police picked up the phone and did that.So we'll make it easy for them: here's the FBI's phone number...

Here's the name of the person in charge you can call.

Additional info: FBI: (802) 863-6316 John Cavanaugh Call now..

Before two girls become three. Or four..Or more...

That's our opinion..

What's yours?

Police Claim New Leads In Maitland Case

Infamous Search Team Told To Stay Home

http://www.wptz.com/news/4831162/detail.html

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Brianna Maitland has been missing for more than a year, and her family was hoping a specially trained search team from Texas would uncover new clues to their daughter's disappearance..

It's the same group that has been in Aruba helping in the high-profile search for Natalee Holloway --- a teenager from Alabama who vanished on the island...

The Texas Equusearch team was planning to arrive in Vermont on Tuesday, but were told not to come by local police who said they have new leads in the case...

The Maitlands want to know why police have "turned away one of the best search organizations in America..

""If they give us the word that they need us and they feel as though what we have to offer is going to be valuable in this case, we won't even second-guess it, we'll be on the first flight out," said Miller...

The Maitlands said they dealt with a similar situation last year when the national organization called Klaas Kids wanted to come to town...

State police weren't available to elaborate on their supposed leads, but said they are doing everything they can to crack this case..

Four Years Later, Maitland Still Missing

http://www.wcax.com/Global/story.asp?S=8043773

Enosburg Falls, Vermont - March 19, 2008

Two small candles placed on a memorial in Enosburg Falls on Wednesday night commemorated the day when 17-year-old Brianna Maitland vanished...

Four years later police say they are still getting leads but have no idea what happened to Maitland...

Miss Maitland was last seen on March 19, 2004,leaving work at the Black Lantern Inn...

Her car was found a day later, abandoned behind an empty building off Route 118...

In the years since, police have followed tips that said she was involved in illegal drug activity.. Now police say there is no evidence to back that up..

They've also followed tips that a girl who looked like Maitland was seen in Atlantic City..

Investigators from Vermont traveled to Atlantic City, but were never able to track down the girl people reportedly saw,so they couldn't confirm if she was or was not Maitland...

Mja Inc. Investigations, a private investigation firm,is also searching for Maitland..

Members of the agency are the ones who held the small memorial for Maitland on Wednesday...

They took over after the friend who put on the vigil in years past said she couldn't do it this year.

"Things like this has to keep going on for the missing," said Mark Harper, of Mja..

"Once it stops it's hard to get the momentum back..You got to keep the case out to the public..."

Harper says he is frustrated because usually this long into an investigation he has some idea of what happened to the missing person..

In the last ten months police have gone back over every piece of evidence...

They have conducted dozens of interviews and followed a number of new leads but nothing that's brought them closer to solving the mystery....

"We are still optimistic that we, there's information out there, that someone may have information that's going to lead us in the right direction, and we'll be able to find out what happened to her," said Vermont State Police Lt. Glenn Hall....

Police say it's not unusual for people to have information about a case without realizing it..

They are asking anyone who knows something, even if it seems trivial,to contact the State Police in St.Albans...
