Police Still Looking Into Disappearance 13 Years Later

MONTGOMERY, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police investigators say they're still looking into active leads that could solve the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl last seen 13 years ago.

Brianna Maitland disappeared from Montgomery, Vermont, on March 19, 2004. She was last seen at the Black Lantern Inn, where she worked.

Police say they believe Maitland was the victim of a crime.

Maitland's family continues to offer $20,000 for information. They offer $10,000 for anyone who can identify where Maitland is and $10,000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of someone responsible for her disappearance. The reward expires in July.

The Vermont State Police is also offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible person.

ENOSBURGH FALLS, Vt. 

It's been exactly thirteen years since Brianna Maitland went missing. Sunday she was remembered with a candle light vigil in Enosburg Falls.

Maitland was last seen in Montgomery when she left work at the Black Lantern Inn. Police believe she was a victim of foul play. Loved ones at the vigil say they are not losing hope -- they want to bring Brianna home.

"Very heartbreaking. We thought this would be over by now, and we just haven't come up with anything solid," said Mark Harper, a private Investigator active in Maitland's Case.

"I wish there was more that we can do to search for her, and as of now all we can do is keep the voice of her story as much as we can, and by having her vigil, that's one thing that we're trying to do, and we always hope that she will be found," said Kira Trombley, Maitland's Friend.

Investigators say they will start searching again in the spring and plan to keep expanding their search grounds until they find Maitland.

All indications was it was rear wheel drive..

I would say it was in reverse--no marks that would indicate that the car was trying to stop..

If you look at the way the car hit the abandon House--there was some force used...

There was evidence of a struggle but it wasnt preserved by Law-Enforcement..

Mja had the chance to process Miss Maitlands car after the Vermont State Police..

Missing 17 Year Old Female Brianna Maitland

On 3-19-2004 a 17 year old white female left work @ 11:20pm in Montgomery Vermont..

Her vehicle was found 1.3 miles from her work place..

The car had been rammed into reverse into an abandon house.which is in route to her home...

Miss Maitland was last seen on 3-19-2004 in her vehicle leaving the parking-lot of her work place..

The 17 year old Maitland had 2 jobs & lived with a Family Friend in Sheldon Vermont....

Mja began working on this case on 4-3-2004 & early on our experience told us that Miss Maitland could be a victim of a serial killer..

Serial Killer : Israel Keyes Ruled Out In Maitland Case

Serial killer Israel Keyes had no involvement in the 2004 disappearance of Vermont teenager Brianna Maitland, according to the FBI...

Financial records prove he was elsewhere March 19, 2004, when the 17-year-old Maitland vanished after leaving work at a Franklin County restaurant..

FBI Special Agent Jolene Goeden said.“We were able to rule him out,” Goeden told the Burlington Free Press.

Even though Keyes has been ruled out concerning the Maitland Case..

There are still 4 other possible serial killers who should be considered as Suspects in the disappearance of Miss Maitland..

2 of those serial killers killed themselfs before being arrested & 1 has been caught & Mja feels there is another Serial Killer still operating..

17 Year Old Brianna Maitland has been Missing for 8 Years on 3-19-2012..

At this time nothing discovered or recovered during the investigation of Miss Maitland's disappearance has turned up " NOTHING "..

Mja & others have spent several years searching for Miss Maitland in VT,NY, & NH & investigating the case...We look for that work ethic on this case to continue..

Its beyond reason that nothing has surfaced to point any investigation in the right direction to follow to bring this case to a close...

In many cases by this time you have a good idea of what your dealing with & what avenue to follow to prove the case..

MONTGOMERY, Vt. - It was eight years ago Monday that a Vermont teenager disappeared without a trace and the case continues to baffle police.

Seventeen year-old Brianna Maitland was last seen leaving the Montgomery restaurant where she worked.

Her car was found abandoned behind a barn the next day. Police at first considered the possibility that Maitland ran away, but later concluded that she was a victim of foul play.

Eight years later, investigators say they continue to investigate leads and remain optimistic someone will come forward with new information.

"The longer it goes unsolved, the more outside the box we try to think.

Meaning that cases around the country and world are solved and you never could imagine that this is what actually happened once the facts come out and so we think that could be the case in the Brianna Maitland case.

When the truth comes out it will be something no one has ever thought of," said Vermont State Police Lt. Brian Miller.

Twenty-five thousand dollars is being offered for information leading to a resolution in the case..

RICHFORD — The Vermont State Police Search and Rescue Team is going to be searching a section of Richford as part of their on going investigation into the 2004 disappearance of a 17-year-old girl..

Police say the Monday search in the Prive Hill Road area has been planned for some time...

Brianna Maitland was last seen at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery on March 19, 2004 where she worked as a dishwasher...

Her car was found the next day a short distance away, but she has not been seen since...

Police believe she was the victim of foul play...

The Maitland family continues to offer a $20,000 reward for information leading to her location and to the person responsible for her disappearance.

Search resumes for Brianna Maitland

 Richford, Vermont - May 10, 2010

Vermont state police resumed their search Monday for Brianna Maitland...

Investigators looked for her body in a Richford gravel pit after receiving a tip. Maitland was 17 when she disappeared in 2004...

She was last seen at work in Montgomery. Her car was found abandoned the next day..

Monday two dozen searchers scoured the area about three miles from where the car was found...

They had help from two cadaver search dogs brought in from Connecticut...

"This specific area is a sand pit and we have permission from the land owner to search this area, it's a sand pit that's surrounded by a wooded area," said Sgt. Tara Thomas of the Vermont State Police..

Maitland's father helped search teams Monday...

Police didn't find any evidence. More searches are planned..

Mja was up-dating our media files on the Maitland case & putting a case file togather for a media out-let..

When we noticed alot more up-dated articles & blogs & postings on web-sites about Miss Maitland's disappearance that Mja didnt have in the case file yet...

Mja is very happy the VT.State Police has shown a new found interest in the case & is moving forword..

Mja feels with the steps being taken there is a good chance evidence could be found & recovered..

Its my feeling from talking to Mr.Maitland that he is encouraged with whats being done by Law-Enforcement..

Location : Route 118 outside of Montgomery Vermont at what is known as the Crash-Site where Miss Maitland's car was found..

A poster of 15 photo's related to the case was set-up with 6 candles..

The 6 candles stating Miss Maitland has been missing for 6 years...

At 7 pm on 3-19-10 the 6 candles were lit by a 10 year old child attending the Vigil..

A Family member of Miss Maitland's attended the Vigil placing Flowers at the Crash-Site..

A very close Friend of the Maitland Family attended the Vigil placing Flowers at the Crash-Site & using her personalized candle for Miss Maitland..

At 8 pm on 3-19-10 the poster of photo's & flowers were left leaning against the abandoned house in the area like an open porch...

Vigil for Brianna Maitland Missing 3-19-2004--VT‏‏‏..

On March 19, 2010 from 7pm to 8 pm outside Montgomery Vermont,there will be a candle-lite vigil for Brianna Maitland..

Location of Vigil has changed to :

Location:Route 118 outside of Montgomery Vermont..

At the abandon house where Brianna Maitland's car was found on March 20 2004 & her car had been rammed in reverse into the abandon house..

Miss Maitland left work at 11:20pm on 3-19-2004 & her car was found the next day 1.3 miles away from her work-place..

Mja will attend a candle-lite vigil being held for Brianna Maitland 1.3 miles outside of Montgomery Vermont on March 19 2010..

At this time the vigil will be held at what is known as the Crash-Site on Route 118..

Miss Maitland 17 years old disappeared 6 years ago on 3-19-2004 last seen leaving work never to be heard from again..

Few leads in Miss Maitland's disappearance have surfaced during the years..

But nothing solid that would lead you in any certain direction..

Miss Maitland became our 59th case on 4-3-2004..

Mja NY home office is about an hour & 15 minutes away from where Miss Maitland disappeared...

Mja spent alot of time on location searching for Miss Maitland..
